Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Senior EHS Specialist- Safety will report to the Safety Manager and focus time predominantly in our WV geographic area. This position is a hybrid field-based role, with responsibility for direct support to operations. The position will be officed in any of our selected offices in WV.
This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, Regulatory and local, state, and federal laws/regulations and DEC internal policies and procedures. The focus of this job is currently related to safety, however, experience and ability in environmental and regulatory matters is a plus.
Special focus will be placed on:
  • Develop strong working relationship with the operational leadership team driving the expected EHS culture across all operations,
  • Maintains a strong bias for action and field presence.
  • Provide EH&S support to assigned assets, corporate programs and projects.
  • Perform field visits, inspections, training, and project management.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to field operations and operations leaders.
  • PSM facility support and guidance.
  • Perform field visits to verify data, work with operations to attain compliance, and respond to agency inquiries.
  • Solves problems with creative solutions to produce significant results.
  • Performs primarily self-directed in area of responsibility.
  • Proactively support and/or lead EH&S initiatives that support the business and the organization's themes and corporate strategies.
  • Contribute to and influence team priorities as a strong team member or leader. Seeks the ideas and opinions of others. Encourages and motivates teams to accomplish results. Fosters trust
  • Successfully mentors operations in safety and environmental matters.
  • Make recommendations after anticipating work/project requirements and considers business impact and risks
Position Requirements
  • 8-10 years of oil and gas experience with safety and environmental responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or related discipline is desired. Safety-focused coursework is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of oil and gas operations and implications for compliance with environmental, health and safety laws.
  • Understanding of oil and gas operations, including equipment nomenclature and typical usage.
  • Effective project management, business writing, presentation, training and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Be an ASP, CSP, CHSO or have a safety certification, or be in the process of becoming certified.
  • Have direct experience with incident investigations and corrective action development.
  • Safety training and presentation skills experience
