Diversified Safety Services is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Rosedale, MD

ABOUT DIVERSIFIED SAFETY SERVICES

POSITION OVERVIEW
The human resources generalist will be responsible for handling recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, performance management, wellbeing, and employee relations for the Company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process payroll to include collecting time sheets and obtaining approved timesheets from clients
  • Track PTO, employee referrals, and training for continuing education
  • Assist management with hiring needs – post positions, screen candidates, and schedule interviews
  • Attend recruiting events as required
  • Conduct candidate background and drug screenings
  • Process new hire paperwork (i.e. I9, E-Verify, tax forms, direct deposit, etc.)
  • Conduct onboarding to include welcome email, create email account, and set-up in payroll
  • Provide new hires an overview of benefits and process to enroll; track enrollment to ensure elections are done timely
  • Manage vacation requests, benefit changes, personnel changes, auto violations, and GL/WC coverage
  • Process Employment Verifications
  • Maintain FTSS/inspector coverage in Outlook
  • Participate in Open Enrollment meetings and manage the Open Enrollment process
  • Manage the performance management process for the Company
  • Assist management with disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Coordinate training as required
  • Remain current in human resources policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Draft policies and update Employee Handbook as required
  • Draft communication messaging for the Company
  • Handle employee relations and escalate to supervisor as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in human resources
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Previous experience using Paycor for onboarding and payroll
A successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

The noise level in the work environment, particularly when in the field, can vary significantly and at times be very loud.
