Divine Truth Unity Fellowship Church is Hiring a Program Facilitator Near San Bernardino, CA

Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance (RPYA) is seeking dedicated and experienced facilitators to join our team. The Program Facilitator provides LGBTQ youth ages 11-26 with programs that are engaging, youth centered, and youth driven. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with LGBTQ youth, an understanding of unique challenges that LGBTQ youth face, and a passion for creating safe spaces for young people to explore their identities and build community. The program is rooted in community building, culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction models.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Acts as a Wellness Center staff member and provides support during drop in, programming, and event hours in conjunction with schedules made by the Wellness Center Director.
  • Ensures that the Wellness Center remains clean, organized, and presentable to participants to ensure a functional and orderly space.
  • Plans and facilitates support groups and workshops for LGBTQ youth ages 11-26 virtually and in person on a variety of topics that include a range of activities and discussions that are engaging and relevant to youth participants.
  • Oversees arrival and departure of and supervises participants during daily schedules of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.
  • Maintains accurate records; provides regular updates to supervisors on progress of attendance, group activities, and incidents that arise; and ensures data is collected and entered into the database system, program materials and supplies are adequate for program needs, and youth space is maintained.
  • Arranges for and serves appropriate snacks or meals where applicable. Inventories equipment on a recurring basis and recommends replenishing damaged, missing, and depleted supplies.
  • Collaborate with other service providers, community organizations, schools, and agencies to coordinate services, events, field trips, and activities and to promote LGBTQ youth programs and events to increase attendance.
  • Work with LGBTQ youth to identify their needs and adjust programs to meet those needs and participates in conferences with parents to address the specific needs of youth.
  • Notes special instructions provided by parents. Assist in identifying program participants who have a referral, crisis intervention, case management, or behavioral needs, and refer them to internal resources for support.
  • Actively participate as a member of the program team, including training, agency events, attending team/staff meetings, and the provision of backup for other program staff as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work hours. Work in evenings and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications and Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting LGBTQ youth and developing programs for LGBTQ youth ages 11-26.
  • A clear commitment to actively work for social, racial, and gender justice.
  • Experience in youth development and rapport building.
  • Experience working with gender-diverse youth and/or LGBTQ communities and knowledge of the unique challenges LGBTQ youth and communities face in the Inland Empire.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with other departments or organizations to meet the needs of youth.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and advocacy for marginalized communities.

Compensation: $25.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week (up to $24,000 per year), Part Time, Duration from September 1, 2024, to May 31, 2025.
