The DLP Services, LLC is currently accepting applications for the position of: POSITION TITLE: Construction Foreman Location: Del Rio, TX FLSA: Exempt Hire Pay: TBD Classification : Full time JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Their duties include hiring construction workers and trade professionals to perform specific tasks, monitoring budgeting expenses for workers, supplies or tools and reviewing laws and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Customer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop a positive working relationship. Decision-making skills for selecting personnel and subcontractors for specific tasks and jobs to meet deadlines and budgets. Manage projects onsite and host meetings with teams of Construction Workers to establish project deadlines, safety procedures, work schedules or payment details. Initiative for generating their own business opportunities and being proactive in locating new clients.
Leadership skills for effectively delegating tasks to lower-level managers, subcontractors and construction workers. Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explaining complex information to clients and construction workers and discussing technical details with other building specialists. Technical skills for interpreting construction methods and technologies along with contracts and technical drawings. Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensuring construction phases are completed on time so that the next phase can start. Writing skills for writing budgets, proposals and plans along with documenting work progress for clients and others involved. Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient. SAFETY: Works safely at all times and promptly informs management about unsafe conditions. Wears personal protective equipment appropriate for the task being performed. Adheres to proper security procedures. Performs other duties as required. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives supervision from the Superindendent. The position has formally assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision. WORKING CONDITIONS: The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of the job. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY: This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: 3 years of experience in commercial construction. GED or High School Diploma. Experience in the Design-Build methodology of project development is preferred
  • Experience in Education and Commercial Construction is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening. Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices. Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies. Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues. In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations. Great problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal setting, and conflict management.
