Job Description

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with proven experience with manufacturing and automation who is passionate about machine tools and new technology. Responsible for the design, selection, commissioning and support of automated processing systems in our production facility.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Designing, programming and operating Robotics systems (Fanuc) for machine tending applications
  • Designing & manufacturing automation units such as robot EOAT and fixture/clamping mechanisms
  • Control specification design for manufacturing automation cells
  • Supporting electrical design and automation components selection
  • PLC/HMI programming based on control spec and system workflow
  • Robot teaching and/or vision system programming
  • Integration with CNC machine tool, and peripheral devices through fieldbus
  • Performing automation cell unit test, integration, run-off and commissioning
  • Creating work instructions, troubleshooting & maintenance documents
  • Designing and fabricating fixtures/work-holding (Creo)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Ability to define and troubleshoot manufacturing/machining processes. Strong analytical/problem solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate at varying technical levels to internal staff, customers, and suppliers
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Proven experience communicating professionally with internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven organizational skills with a high attention to detail

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 3 years related experience with proven progressive development
  • Experience in robotics (Fanuc), PLC, SCADA, safety logic, RIA, ISO machinery standards
  • Fluency in Japanese is a plus

Work Environment:

General office environment will be experienced. There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.

Physical Demands:

Frequent: sitting at desk utilizing computers and phones, standing, walking.
