Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Medical Front Desk professional to join our healthcare team. This dual role is essential in providing clinical and administrative support to ensure our medical office runs efficiently and our patients receive the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties (not limited to):
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and have the necessary supplies.
- Take and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant information.
- Administer medications and injections and perform basic lab tests as the healthcare provider directs.
- Assist with patient education, providing medication instructions, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
Front Desk Duties (not limited to):
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Schedule appointments, manage the patient flow, and ensure the waiting area is clean and organized.
- Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and handle appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Verify patient insurance information, collect copays, and handle billing inquiries.
- Maintain patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and manage the follow-up process.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, and mail.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time with occasional extended hours as needed.
- Primarily in a medical office setting, with exposure to clinical environments.
