POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a Facilities and Fleet Manager ready to take charge of an exciting array of responsibilities? From overseeing construction projects to ensuring optimal facility management and managing our fleet, you will play a crucial role in driving our operations forward.

Primary ObjectivesCoordinate and direct a wide variety of activities involved with maintaining the organizations fleet and facilities, including inspection of vehicles, plant machinery and commercial equipment, building management, lighting, air conditioning, network wiring etc. Directs, controls and leads general construction projects, and growth or acquisition activity.
Specific AccountabilitiesConstruction projects
  • Collaborate with procurement to oversee tendering and ensure seamless continuity of operations for new projects.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that design concepts, interior decoration, and fittings in property development projects meet required standards and branding guidelines.
  • Direct and coordinate building extensions or additions, liaising with various authorities and stakeholders to achieve plans within budgets and timeframes.
  • Implement financial controls to maintain projects within budget and explore green energy options and sustainable practices.
  • Provide recommendations for production efficiencies, including automation and equipment upgrades.
  • Prepare and maintain budgets and schedules for projects within the facilities division.
  • Monitor and control construction progress on new developments.
  • Contribute as a member of the Australian leadership team, providing specialist input on global construction projects.
Facilities & Maintenance
  • Lead and oversee the facilities function to ensure adherence to quality, cost, safety, and performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to the development of short and long-term facility plans.
  • Propose rationalization strategies for current properties and equipment, including disposal, modification, and refurbishing.
  • Define and review plant maintenance policies to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with quality control staff to set quality standards for plant and equipment.
  • Regularly review plant and equipment to ensure they meet production and quality requirements.
  • Resolve technical problems and discuss priorities with relevant managers.
  • Confirm satisfactory completion of agreed works and follow up on defect rectification.
  • Liaise with unit management to ensure proper coordination of work with contractors.
  • Respond to emergencies and implement corrective actions.
Fleet
  • Ensure fleet compliance with relevant laws and fitness for purpose.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs and monitor post-repair performance.
  • Provide advice on fleet composition and distribution across the organization.
  • Manage lifecycle management of vehicles and provide advice on new equipment.
  • Oversee acquisition, replacement, disposal, and logistics of vehicles.
  • Recommend strategies to lower vehicle-operating expenses and increase utilization.
  • Update and enforce vehicle operation maintenance and service check policies and systems.
  • Ensure timely task allocation and monitor fleet maintenance system.
  • Implement fleet monitoring software for GPS tracking and data collection.
General
  • Lead property strategy in relation to growth or acquisition activities.
  • Participate in research and development projects as required.
  • Coordinate facilities staff activities and oversee staff selection and training.
  • Review proposals for new projects or modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant acts, legal demands, and ethical standards.
  • Prepare documentation and project progress/status reports.
  • Contribute to the formulation and maintenance of Business Contingency Plans.
This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package. $82,000 - $120,000.
  • Trade qualifications in building maintenance desired.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial equipment, such as dishwashers and refrigeration.
  • Demonstrated management skills and planning ability.
  • Energetic leader committed to safety and compliance.
  • Familiarity with National Heavy Vehicle Regulations and Chain of Responsibility.
  • Exposure to process improvement methodologies, such as Lean.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strategic planning expertise and project organization background.
  • Ability to travels up to 75% as needed
Intellectual/Social demandsWhile performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time.
