Position Purpose:

Responsible for summarizing and aggregating commercial and financial data, preparing financial forecasts and reports. Protecting the company's assets by ensuring internal control mechanisms are effective, and by detecting and preventing fraud and malfeasance. Liaises with internal capital markets specialists and external securities lawyers to manage financial disclosures required by the securities laws. Ensure that the business is operating effectively and efficiently. Work directly with the management team to run the business and ensure its profitability while maintaining proper internal control.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review and present financial reports and budgets throughout the year. Advise management of any major variances and their impact on operation and results.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets on monthly and annual basis as required. Identify accounting and financial issues and timely suggest solutions.
  • Analyze cost categories, identify inefficiencies, and lead improvement projects.
  • Continuously monitor and manage performances of departments in order to support and achieve planned efficiencies and profitability.
  • Monitor and approve purchases, expenses, salaries, sales, and payments.
  • Analyze data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability.
  • Oversee month-end closing and year-end closing and coordinates and assign duties to the accounting staff as needed.
  • Oversee Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Maintain internal control over revenues, assets and liabilities of the unit and ensure accounts are maintained according to uniformed system.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and timely reporting of financial data to the management.
  • Evaluate departmental performance and adjusts daily operations when needed to ensure the department meets overall goals and objectives.
  • Maintain good corporate relations with clients, vendors, banking institutions, auditors, and other affiliates.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that build trust and instill confidence.
  • Extensive knowledge in fast-paced technologies and accounting programs and possess excellent mathematical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as leadership and administrative skills.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, can operate resourcefully in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized and diligent, pays attention to detail and follow through.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in/with a team.
  • Ability to connect deeply with people, maintain trust, and navigate sensitive issues with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to effectively deal with department heads and team members.
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in accounting and finance.
  • Experience in hospitality or food service is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or related field.
