Parts Manager

Position Overview:

Toyota Lift of Houston is seeking a dedicated and experienced Parts Manager to oversee our parts department operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, efficient inventory management, and exceptional leadership skills. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our receiving, warehousing, and distribution activities while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Safety Commitment: Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, leads by example, ensures employees comply with safety requirements, and actively participates in safety training programs.
  • Inventory Management: Maintains inventory of all company parts in good working condition, ensuring accuracy and availability.
  • WarehouseOperations: Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Security Protocols: Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Inventory Control: Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts to optimize space and efficiency.
  • Operational Requirements: Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Employee Hiring: Participates in the employee hiring process, ensuring the recruitment of qualified candidates.
  • Training: Ensures all employees are properly trained in the requirements of their respective positions to enhance performance and safety.
  • Administrative Duties: Reviews, approves, and submits employee time sheets and expense reimbursements in a timely manner.
  • Performance Management: Provides employees with honest and timely feedback and coaching on performance to support their development and address any issues promptly.
  • Professional Development: Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Team Contribution: Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires parts counterman experience.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to solve problems.
  • Must have a good understanding of inventory.
  • Knowledge of company specific software.

Typical Physical Activity

  • Occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest.
  • Reach and use your arms with a full range of motion.
  • Endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations.
  • Exert push and pull forces with the arms to use various wrenches and tools.
  • Endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations.
  • Use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.

Typical Environmental Conditions

Employees regularly work indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
