The Retail District Manager is responsible for leading and inspiring 10-12 retail store teams in the North East Territory to provide an exceptional customer experience, analyze individual and team performance against business goals, and implement business improvement strategies to meet retail store financial objectives. The Retail District Manager will have a proven history in multi-unit management; be able to plan, coordinate and evaluate sales, merchandising and marketing opportunities; opening new stores; hiring and training of store managers and service specialists (sales associates); and contributing to the continued loyalty and growth of a brand within retail stores.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Establish multi-store sales goals and oversee plans, budgets and variable costs for each store; works with comparable sales to last year, sales-to-budget and future trends to maximize profitability.
Provide leadership and development to store managers in areas such as merchandise processing, replenishment and recovery of the sales floor, inventory allocation and product levels according to 5.11 merchandising standards.
Responsible for recruiting and developing diverse talent for the district, and encouraging consistent success and career development through a formal succession planning strategy and monthly one-on-one coaching sessions.
Teach and coach on the sales floor and inspire continuous learning on new products and solutions that result in loyal customers and successful business outcomes.by being engaged with customers to model selling behaviors
Manage reporting of sales figures, perform cash operational functions such as cash management, bank deposits and cash handling procedures and daily cash reconciliation for all stores.
Manage district labor and payroll and incentive programs, multi-store controllable budget and expenses.
Participate in, and oversee, store events to ensure they are within budget, meet the event criteria, and work with the Marketing, Merchandising and Sales Teams in the execution of the event.
Work closely with 5.11 Tactical Merchandising Team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities and develop long-term strategies within the district, as well as manage and implement reductions, price changes, clearance and transfers.
Implement and ensure safety and security routines are followed in every store, to prevent loss, track against sales & inventory, and guarantee employee and customer safety.
Partner with the VP of Retail and Merchandising, and construction, to ensure new stores open ontime and fully staffed.
Develop and guide local store marketing programs within the local community as well as with local public safety organizations.
Be available to work a retail schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as travel up to 60% with occasional over-night trips.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
* Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of retail management experience
* Minimum of 2 years of multi-store management experience
* Able to train and build an effective team
* Possess strong service-focused business acumen
* Able to use managerial courage in making decisions, driving results and managing through others
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Retail POS system knowledge and experience required
* Ability to travel within assigned Territory
