As Senior Accountant, you will be an integral member of the accounting team, performing accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy of the financials through interactions with the Finance team and various departments. You will partner with the brand and shopper marketing teams to provide timely analysis, insightful guidance, and financial leadership. Areas of responsibility include overseeing accounting for marketing as well as general accounting as needs arise.

This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our new US HQ in Westlake Village, CA.

(Hybrid is defined as working 2 - 3 days per week in the office.)

Primary Accountabilities:

Marketing:

• Manage periodic close process for marketing.
• Prepare and understand complex journal entries.
• Prepare marketing accruals and ensure account balances are complete and accurate.
• Assist the Marketing department in reviewing open purchase orders.
• Manage and improve the GR/IR process, ensuring timely resolution of open transactions.
• Provide guidance to 3rd party staff as needed.

Close Management and Reporting:

• Assist the Senior Manager in leading a timely close.
• Assist in completing periodic close, including supplementary reporting requirements.
• Analyze general ledger account activity and balances. Effectively communicate findings to management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Analyze and investigate variances against budgets and forecasts.
• Identify improvements to processes and procedures.
• Become a superuser of Blackline, managing day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing additional functionality.
• Assist management in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:

• 3 years of experience in accounting with close experience, CPG a plus
• Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Ability to learn new systems required, experience with SAP and Blackline preferred.

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business (Accounting preferred)
• CPA or equivalent a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional travel may be required.

FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA:

Hiring Pay Scale: $85,000.00 to $95,000.00/yr.
