Job Summary

The DEV Environmental group has one position available which will be filled at the level based on the successful candidates' education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. This role will be supporting Possum Point Power Station in Dumfries, VA.

Ensures company compliance with environmental, chemical management, waste management, and permit regulations at a specific work location. Has responsibility for safe and efficient operation of work site, to comply with regulatory and company standards and procedures. Serves as liaison with external and governmental agencies. Coordinates with and monitor operations and maintenance personnel, to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and wildlife management rules and regulations. Inspects or assessments, and provides recommendations on compliance issues to management. May analyze data and prepare management reports. Keeps management apprised of site environmental compliance or safety records. Serves as primary site coordinator with internal department and external agencies on environmental, safety or chemical management issues at work site(s). Serves as contact with community to resolve complaints or problems. Procures services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental and safety programs. Coordinates hazardous waste disposal. Provides training to site personnel in handling chemicals and waste materials, or in other procedural requirements. Evaluates new regulations and coordinates compliance plan. May serve as a conduit at contracted sites, to address company safety, policies, and programs. May identify potential safety prevention risks, and recommend corrective measures. May include monitoring and evaluation of environmental gaps and recommend corrective measures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

* Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 3 years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor's degree (Or 5 years of directly related experience with Associates Degree Or 7 years of experience with High School Degree / equivalent)

* Sr. Environmental Compliance Coordinator 5 years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor's degree (Or 7 years of directly related experience with Associates Degree Or 9 years of experience with High School Degree / equivalent)

Knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable environmental requirements

* Understanding of and ability to interpret Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC), National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Hazardous Waste and Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Superfund and Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA). Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPPP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), and Federal and State air permits and regulations

* Strong leadership and independence necessary to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans

* Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance

* Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports

* Excellent written and oral communication skills including public speaking skills

* Analytical and record keeping skills

* Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)

* Organizational skills and time management skills

* Ability to work independently and in field environments

Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Associate

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Environmental Science, Enivronmental Technology, Science, Technical, Environmental,

Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.

* Certified Hazardous Materials Handler

* Commonwealth of Virginia Wastewater Works Class III Operator License

* Oil Pollution Response Qualified Individual Training

* EPA Method 9 Certification
