Job Location: Main Office - LOS ANGELES, CA
Salary Range: $23.73 - $29.00 Hourly

Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing operational support to front line staff for advanced account functions including IRAs, Decedent and Trust accounts. Performs all back office duties in support of branch personnel including reviewing Mobile Check Deposits, stop payments, member payroll, PTOF, and ACH origination. Includes processing check fraud claims, subpoenas and levies, account research and correction requests, VOD, W-8 compliance and reporting, ACH reconcilement and dormant/escheat account processing. Responsible for establishing new and subsequent account requests received by mail, online and at business development events within the established timeframes.

Functional Duties

  • Open various new accounts, process necessary information and educate the customers as to services/products available as a result. (For example, Visa check card, online banking, automated teller, etc.)

  • Prepares and processes loan payoffs and lien releases, as well as mortgage modifications and Home Equity subordinations

  • Answers basic questions from borrowers and internal inquiries regarding the
    mortgage and loan documents, balance owing, escrow status, payment breakdown and other basic matters pertaining to loans.

  • Makes required payments for real estate taxes and assessments on mortgage loans in an eicient timely manner. Prepares and maintains required records and reports regarding loan servicing activities and maintains and disposes of central loan file records.

  •  Reviews real estate tax accounts to assure adequate reserves for taxes and insurance and provides for payment of tax bills as authorized by the borrower.

  • Prepares some correspondence and documents and performs other clerical duties related to loan servicing.

  • Pays, cancels and accounts for mortgage insurance premiums and policies and maintains related loan account records.

  • Completes any forms or notices required by a private mortgage insurer, government entity or investor as directed.

  • Provides loan assumption and loan payoff information and necessary paperwork.

  • Explain and expedite the opening, closing, transfer, and rollover of IRA certificates.

  • Assist customers with opening CDs and educate customers as to penalties, earnings, etc.

  • Assist with wide variety of customer services including open/close Shared Certificates, maintain Safe Deposit Boxes, assist customers with checkbooks, process credit card/loan applications for customer, manages outgoing wires, solve fraud issues, notary, close accounts, etc.

  • Set up auto transfers and sign up customers for ACH transfers and wires.

  • Provide backup to tellers upon request.

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

  • Use every customer contact as an opportunity to advise customer about additional services or programs that might benefit them.

Qualifications


Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A high school degree or GED is required.

Interpersonal Skills

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving and obtaining information, as well as advising or referring, which commonly require shorter discussions.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day intermittently, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be reliable.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled, shared work environment.
