Dormi is Hiring an Operations Supervisor Near Worcester, MA
Overview:
Dormi is a mattress rental business, servicing college students in the Worcester area. We are looking for someone to organize move-in/move-outs in May and August on a part time basis, ensuring that inventory is stocked correctly, and that beds are delivered on site in Worcester at the correct locations. We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team to work on a part-time basis in the summer. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations in a warehouse and delivery ensuring efficiency and productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Duties:
- Manage and supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including overseeing shipping and receiving activities
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline operations
- Oversee materials handling activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or a similar role within a distribution center
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Proficiency in inventory control practices and procedures
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and materials handling
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment used in warehouse settings
