BASIC FUNCTION: The Food Runner will assist the Captains in delivering food, bread, water, coffee, tea and other items from the kitchen to the dining room tables. The Food Runner is also responsible for cleaning and resetting of tables.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
v High school diploma or equivalent.
v One-year restaurant experience.
v Good food and service knowledge.
v Excellent communication skills.
v Pleasant and positive personality.
v Ability to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform to very high standards during both setup and service.
2. Work with Captains, Supervisors, and Manager to insure prompt, accurate and efficient service.
3. Deliver hot plates and glassware to tables.
4. Daily stocking and cleaning of all service areas in dining room and kitchen.
5. Daily hand polishing of china, silver and glassware.
6. Clean and reset tables as directed by Captains and Supervisors.
7. Nightly breakdown of side stations.
8. Maintain crisp, clean uniform as outlined in restaurant guidelines.
9. Be completely knowledgeable about all food served in the restaurant.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
2. Assist in the other Food and Beverage departments as needed.
