Job description
390 Prime Steak & Seafood restaurant located in the brand new Doubletree by Hilton Monroe is seeking an experienced part-time Host/Hostess for our upscale restaurant during dinner service Monday-Sundays.
- Warmly welcome Guests as they arrive, extending a friendly and hospitable greeting. Escort them to their tables and provide menus.
- Manage reservations efficiently, including recording guest information, seating arrangements, and special requests. Maintain an organized reservation system. Review OpenTable reservations daily.
- Keep track of the waitlist during peak dining hours, provide estimated wait times, and inform guests when their tables are ready.
- Liaise between Guests and restaurant Team Members, ensuring a smooth flow of service and addressing Guest inquiries or concerns.
- Assign tables to Guests in a fair and organized manner, optimizing table turnover and seating efficiency.
- Complete knowledge of the restaurant's menu items, daily specials, and any allergen information to assist Guests with menu choices.
- To Go orders processed properly and ensure delivery to guest rooms or pick-up.
- Ensure that the host/hostess stand and waiting areas are clean and organized at all times. Maintain a tidy and welcoming environment.
- Collaborate with restaurant servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to coordinate seating and ensure a seamless dining experience for Guests.
- Thank Guests for dining with us as they depart and inquire about their experience. Provide feedback to management as needed.
- Make courtesy calls to confirm reservations and follow up with guests regarding any special arrangements or preferences.
- Assist in clearing & setting tables as need during service.
- Clean-wipe down all menu booklets during service.
- Have a sense of urgency at all times to keeping the dining room moving forward during dinner service.
- Strong desire to do whatever it takes in regards to the Guest’s experience.
- Perceptive to the Guest and their needs and wants.
- Ability to work positively with all associates within the restaurant.
- Ability to multi-task while taking care of the Guest’s needs and maintaining composure.
- Strong communication skills and an outgoing personality.
- Previous restaurant experience required as a host/hostess or server.
- Experience in an environment of restaurant Guest service & upscale dining.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or server in an upscale restaurant.
- Excellent Guest Service and communication skills, with a welcoming and courteous demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments efficiently.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy dining hours.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to assist Guests and Team Members.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Daily: 4:45pm to 10:15pm
