Job Title: Housekeeping Manager

Company: Doubletree by Hilton Downtown Portland, Oregon

Position Overview:The Doubletree by Hilton Downtown Portland is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee all aspects of our housekeeping operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that our guests experience the highest level of cleanliness, comfort, and satisfaction during their stay. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including scheduling, training, and supervising housekeeping staff.
  2. Ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
  3. Develop and implement housekeeping procedures, standards, and policies to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  4. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and amenities and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels.
  6. Handle guest requests, complaints, and inquiries related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as front office and maintenance, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  8. Train and motivate housekeeping staff to provide exceptional service and maintain a positive work environment.
  9. Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to minimize accidents, injuries, and hazards in the workplace.
  10. Maintain accurate records and reports related to housekeeping operations, including staffing, inventory, and maintenance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in housekeeping or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
