Douglas-A-Thom Clinic is Hiring a Clinical Team Leader Near Lowell, MA

QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree in an Early Intervention relevant discipline and three years’ experience working with young children and their families. Is certified as an Early Intervention Specialist (CEIS). Maintains current driver’s license.

SUPERVISION: Each Staff member will receive supervision appropriate to the staff member's skills and level of professional development. Supervision will occur within the context of a formalized relationship that provides frequent and regularly scheduled individual or group personal contact with the supervisor.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF ROLES:

Supervision/Leadership:

  • Regularly convenes team meetings and case conference.
  • Reviews and edit team report writing/IFSPs. Gives appropriate feedback to staff to further staff development in this area.
  • Participates in Orientation of new team members.
  • Works with team to develop sense of cohesion, teamwork, team support. Works with team members when in conflict.
  • Works with team to improve ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Provides supervision to team around service coordination, transitions, development of IFSPs, clinical issues and working with families. Arranges regularly scheduled supervision meetings with team members.
  • Provides support for staff during Early Intervention Specialist Certification portfolio process.
  • Assists team members with time management, productivity and scheduling.
  • Uses computer technology for purposes of organization, communications, and scheduling.

Clinical Team:

  • Attends and participates in clinical team meetings, raising issues of concern and participates in the problem-solving process. Facilitates/cooperates in meeting process, keeping to the agenda and timeframe. 
  • Participates in the interviewing/hiring process.

Intake/Case Disposition:

  • Handles intake process, sensitively and efficiently, including initial contact with family, describing Early Intervention services, conducting intake and communicating appropriate information to team members.
  • Handles case disposition/assignment process, communicating information concisely, quickly following up with staff, and having all necessary information completed and available.
  • Arranges for interim contact with families during case assignment process, if necessary.

Service Delivery:

  • When appropriate or necessary, takes on a service coordinator role, conducting home visits, providing developmental activities and family support.
  • Participates in parent and/or child groups.
  • Participates as a member of the assessment team, providing one’s own clinical expertise and using the opportunity to support team members in the development of their assessment skills.
  • Participates in IFSP development, sharing one’s clinical expertise, and supporting staff in the IFSP meeting process. 
  • Completes, in a timely manner, all relevant paperwork, including insurance, EIIS, IFSP updates, time sheets and case notes.

Consultation/Collaboration/Outreach:

  • Participates in the development of “Natural Environment” opportunities, and the medical/social service system.
  • Has knowledge of/and the ability to access community resources.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of Outreach activities, focusing on specific target populations.
  • Participates in offering presentations/workshops to the community providers, parents, staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Professionalism:

  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings, in services, and team meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries; promote client confidentiality; and exhibit flexibility, and teamwork. 
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to/awareness of the diversity of families and staff (cultural, economic, educational, language).
  • Communicate relevant information with supervisors and coworkers regarding daily work, schedule, and families.
  • Maintain a positive approach by respecting and valuing contributions of coworkers, contributing input focused on improvement of the program, and willingness to participate in special projects and initiatives.
  • Accept feedback on performance, appropriately handle differences of opinion, and communicate directly with others.
  • Meet expected paperwork timelines, be prompt for meetings and home visits, and follow through on commitments in a timely manner.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, managing to be flexible and creative when necessary.
