    THIS POSTION IS LOCATED IN KLAMATH FALLS
    Douglas ESD is accepting applications for a Quality Improvement Specialistat ourKlamath Fallslocation, to begin immediately. This position works 220 days per year, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

    STARTING SALARY: $23.99 - $30.92 per hour (Placement is dependent on relevant verifiable experience)
    JOB SUMMARY: Recruitment, retention and development of quality early learning professionals and practitioners through direct service provided primarily in Klamath and Lake counties with some service provision to Douglas County.

    Provider Recruitment and Retention
    • Coordinate provider recruitment and retention activities primarily in Klamath County with some service to Douglas and Lake counties.
    • Assist early learning professionals with professional development planning, navigating college systems and connecting providers to resources.
    • Support childcare providers as they navigate Oregon’s early learning systems such as licensure, DHS listing, Oregon Registry, USDA, and others.
    • Maintain and conduct provider’s updates in data collection systems.
    Technical Assistance, Training and Coaching
    • Coordinate and mentor childcare providers in short-term cohorts, networks, and workgroups to increase program quality.
    • Develop and deliver training for the early learning workforce through entry level to advanced professional development.
    • Deliver training virtually and in-person in our service area, primarily Klamath and Lake with some service to Douglas County.
    • Support Care Connections & Education training and events with planning, collecting resources and outreach activities to increase participation.
    • Provide ongoing technical assistance for providers regarding program environments, behavioral support, parent connection, introductory business practices and high-quality care.
    • Conduct observation and assessments of early learning programs as needed.
    College Navigator and Network Facilitator
    • Work closely with Klamath Community College Early Childhood Education program to recruit and retain students in the ECE program at KCC.
    • Facilitate a network of early childhood Education students in completing scholarships, planning for their professional development, and accessing the most recent supports and scholarships.
    • Offer scheduled on campus support to students.
    • Ensure collaboration with Care Connections & Education to promote college opportunity and early learning workforce development.
    Administrative Duties
    • Perform administrative activities such as scheduling meetings and training.
    • Provide responsive customer service to providers and community partners.
    • Utilize data systems such as FCCO, ORO and others.
    • Complete reports as assigned.
    • Promote community collaboration between Care Connections & Education, local business, community partners and the South-Central Early Learning Hub.
    Community Engagement
    • Represent Care Connections & Education in assigned community advisory and early learning leadership meetings.
    • Provide community education on the state of childcare and the role of Care Connections and Education in our region.
    Travel and Work Hours
    • Some evening and occasional Saturday work hours are required to meet the needs of our clients.
    • Occasional travel and out-of-town stays are a part of this role as it relates to statewide systems and training for this position.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood preferred.
    • Experience supporting young children in early learning setting required.
    • Must be a step 10 on the Oregon registry or become a step 10 within 6 months of receiving this position.
    • Experience in mentoring and coaching adults preferred.
    • Must demonstrate strong 21st century skills.
    • Must be willing to work some evenings and Saturdays to meet the needs of our clients.
    • Must pass Oregon’s Central Background Registry in addition to Douglas ESD background checks.
