The potential candidate has experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing screw/scroll/centrifugal chillers, compressors, air handlers, cooling towers, package units, split systems, boilers, DDC controls, Pneumatic Controls, VFDs and various other large commercial HVAC systems of all makes and models.

JOB DUTIES EXPECTED IN THIS POSITION:

• Diagnoses, repairs, replaces, chillers and associated components for various manufacturers, including YORK, AAON, TRANE, DAIKIN.
• Troubleshoots and repairs chillers of all types, i.e., hermetic, scroll, screw, centrifugal.
• Repairs components and performs complex modifications of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components, including compressors, cooling towers, motors, pumps, fans, piping, transducers, flow switches, low pressure chillers, economizers, variable speed drives.
• Repairs leaks, leak tests, and adds refrigerant to specified sub-cool and super-heat.
• Monitors HVAC systems for proper operation of pressures and temperatures.
• Ensures mechanical systems are operating at peak efficiency.
• Installs replacement parts according to OEM specifications and safety guidelines.
• Maintains logs and other records to document maintenance and repair activities and takes appropriate corrective actions before system outage occurs.
• Responds to emergency calls.
• Supports and assists other technicians as needed.
• Establishes sequence of operation of each HVAC system to understand the adjustment and repair required.
• References technical support call-in lines and Manufacturer IOM to help understand and repair HVAC systems.
• Performs factory recommended annual maintenance for HVAC systems per manufacturer requirements and makes recommendations for repairs as determined to keep the equipment in good operating condition.
• Responds to service calls and trouble-shoots & repairs HVAC Systems.
• Understanding of refrigeration principles, electrical principles, electronic (DDC) controls, and pneumatic controls.
• Strong IT skills for daily service call reporting prior to leaving the site.
• Prioritizes safety and adheres to department and company safety standards.
• Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training and shall maintain on-going required continued education, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position.
• Documents cause and remedy; and if problem has not been fixed, offers explanation of situation, and proposed next steps.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED, some college beneficial
• Valid driver’s license, and acceptable driving record
• Neat clean appearance
• Good attitude and work ethic
• Have satisfactory written/reading communication skills as well as good customer service skills
• Pass a drug test and background check
• Sharp problem-solving skills
• Must have strong understanding of commercial HVAC Systems, installation, service, and maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills with both clients, coworkers, and project managers.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Must have stable background/work history to be considered for this position

JOB TYPE: Full-time

PAY: Up to $30 to $40 per hour.

SCHEDULE:

• Monday to Friday 7 to 3:30.
• After-Hours in Rotation.

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
