Department: Loss Mitigation Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. (“Dovenmuehle”) is the leading mortgage subservicing firm in the United States with several hundred financial institution clients nationwide.
General DescriptionDovenmuehle Mortgage Inc. is seeking a seasoned mortgage servicing executive who has directed loss mitigation and default teams, within a sizable organization. Experience within the financial services and mortgage servicing or sub-servicing business sectors. Based in Lake Zurich, IL Headquarters.
Reports to the Senior VP of Default Operations.
Department Specific ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership and operational oversight for the Loss Mitigation and default department leaders and teams.
  • Attend meetings and provide reporting for senior management and the Board of Directors, as well as reporting agencies, as needed.
Essential Functions And Duties
  • Have overall responsibility for the efficient servicing operations of numerous default unit locations (IL & one in WI) locations for Dovenmuehle, according to investor and company guidelines.
  • Interview potential internal and external candidates.
  • Will conduct meetings with the department management.
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operations division.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Establishes and administers the department’s budget.
  • Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures that proper training is developed and provided.
  • Successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 10 years’ experience in financial or mortgage servicing default and loss mitigation management or VP-level.
  • 10 years of senior management experience in mortgage servicing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Solid PC skills: Proficient with Microsoft applications.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex, multiple tasks simultaneously in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple and changing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with always demonstrated ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of both internal and external audiences.
  • The ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to motivate others and serve as a role model for organizational and departmental initiatives, procedures, and values.
Preferred/Other Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of mortgage servicing software and platforms.
  • Working knowledge of call center technology systems, software; Avaya phone systems.
  • 10 plus years of management in the financial services/mortgage banking industry.

The employee is frequently required to stand or walk (or otherwise move through the organization); sit; use hands to type, write, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; or lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. The noise level is usually moderate and typical of an office environment. The employee may be required to use a variety of standard office equipment, including computer keyboards and monitors, phones, printers, etc.
