Job Title: Maintenance Logistics Parts Inventory TechnicianOverview: As a Maintenance Logistics Parts Inventory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of maintenance activities within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the inventory of parts and supplies essential for the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with maintenance staff, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of all parts and supplies in the maintenance inventory.
    • Monitor inventory levels and reorder parts as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
    • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
    • Implement efficient inventory control procedures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Parts Procurement:
    • Coordinate with suppliers to procure required parts and supplies in a timely manner.
    • Obtain price quotes, negotiate contracts, and evaluate suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement.
    • Track orders and shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Storage and Organization:
    • Ensure proper storage and organization of parts and supplies to facilitate easy retrieval and prevent damage.
    • Implement appropriate labeling and categorization systems to streamline inventory management processes.
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the inventory storage areas.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and procurement activities.
    • Document all transactions accurately in inventory management systems or databases.
    • Provide regular updates to management regarding inventory status, trends, and potential issues.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with maintenance technicians to understand their parts requirements and prioritize accordingly.
    • Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate cross-functional activities related to inventory management.
    • Work with finance and procurement teams to ensure compliance with budgetary and purchasing policies.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or inventory management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a maintenance or logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
