About You and this Role Dow's Process Automation Technology Team is seeking a motivated
Process Automation Lead to support
Dow's Energy, MSP (Mining, Storage & Pipeline), Environmental Operations & Logistics business assets across the
North America Region. In this role, you will align to the Technical Expertise & Support (TES) group and serve as a process automation lead for small to large capital and improvement projects regionally and/or globally, directing and leading both Dow and contract resources. You will be involved in all three phases of project execution: front end loading, detailed design and construction, and commissioning and startup.
Responsibilities - Establishes project goals and planning. Tracks progress, schedules, and costs for the PA team during all project phases.
- Completes technical review of the control teamwork and provide coaching/corrective feedback.
- Determines testing scenarios and oversees the simulation of the control system to test the strategy and improvements.
- Works with other engineers to determine the project and control requirements.
- Creates the process control overview for the project and develops user requirement system specifications.
- Estimates the process control cost and schedule for the project and manage against these baselines.
- Develops functional requirement specification (FRS) for the system and creates detailed design specifications (DDS).
- Develops control software, operator graphics and simulation software.
- Completes the factory acceptance test (FAT) Commissioning.
- Provides training of operations and support commissioning and start-up of the new asset.
Qualifications - A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (i.e. process automation/control, engineering, etc.).
- Must be willing and able to travel 20% annually.
- At least one of the sites for this position in the U.S. is a TWIC designated facility. Possession of a TWIC card or eligibility to obtain a TWIC card may be required for this position based on final hiring location. Per the US Government and Department of Homeland Security policy and regulations, you may apply for a TWIC card if you are a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, naturalized citizen or a nonimmigrant alien, asylee, or refugee who is in lawful status.
- A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the country for which you are applying. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills - Knowledgeable with one or more process control platforms (ABB 800xA, Honeywell, Triconex, and/or Emerson Ovation).
- Experience in power industry & technology.
Additional Notes - The preferred location for this position is in the U.S. Gulf Coast Region. Fort Saskatchewan, Canada may be considered.
