The Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO) is a branch of ElevateDD that exists to support families, promote community involvement, and encourage a lifetime of opportunities for people with Down syndrome. We believe this can be achieved by providing families and people with Down syndrome with meaningful, convenient, and unique opportunities to discover independence and to celebrate their achievements. Position Overview:

The Event Manager will optimize community engagement and strive to ensure the effective and successful operation of organizational events.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the planning and coordination of fundraising and social events, including but not limited to, Dancing with Our Stars Gala, Columbus Buddy Walk, Golf Classic, Holiday Party, Summer Picnic, Moms and Dads events, World Down Syndrome Day Celebration, and Family Outreach Events
• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Events to create event budgets, timelines, and logistics
• Work with vendors and sponsors-assist with communication and relationship building
• Develop marketing and promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and social media graphics to promote events and programs
• Assist with marketing efforts for programs and events, including email marketing campaigns, development of materials, and community outreach
• Assist with website management
• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Events to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all marketing materials
• Attend and participate in community events and meetings to promote DSACO's mission and increase awareness of its programs and services

Qualifications:

• Passion for the mission and vision of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience and/or 2 years non-profit related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and vendors
• Knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok
• Experience with email marketing software such as Mailchimp
• Experience with website management software such as WordPress
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends as required for programs and events
• Familiarity with the Down syndrome community and/or broader developmental disability community, its resources, and values
• Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality with personal information

Pay: $47,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
