Newly opened ophthalmology practice currently seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should have experience in a medical or dental office setting, possess excellent patient service skills, and be proficient in medical scheduling and insurance verification.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-payments
- Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical office is required.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle high-stress situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of ophthalmology terminology is advantageous
