The Downtown San Diego Partnership (DSDP) is a nonprofit organization that serves as the principal voice and driving force behind the economic prosperity and cultural vitality of Downtown San Diego through membership, advocacy, public services, and community investment. The organization’s nearly 300 members, representing a variety of business sectors including real estate, technology, banking, law, defense, insurance, communications, energy, and tourism are committed to nurturing a Downtown that benefits the entire San Diego region.
It also serves as the managing organization for several special districts and charitable foundations including the Property and Business Improvement District – otherwise known as Clean & Safe – which provides essential public services in the 275 blocks of Downtown San Diego. Through these programs, we have provided enhanced services in maintenance, safety, beautification, and homeless outreach, supported business promotion and retention, and improved the quality of life on behalf of Downtown’s neighborhoods for more than 20 years. Additionally, the partnership serves the downtown community through its unhoused care and safe sleep initiatives.

Position Summary
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that bills and their related expenses are properly coded and processed. Duties include maintaining vendor records, answering accounts payable inquiries, reconciling vendor invoices, credit card charges and banking debits. Banking duties include updating daily bank activity in the accounting system and researching transactions. Grant Management responsibilities include downloading, saving and organizing support for monthly expenses report and grant invoicing.
Essential Job Functions & Duties
Accounts Payable:
· Enter vendor bills in accounting system for payment.
· Verifying organization, grant and account codes and ensure manager approvals for amounts to be paid as well as ensuring proper supporting documents are attached.
· Review credit card and debit card activity, review receipts and prepare for posting to accounting system.
· Record autopay transactions from Bank to accounting system and ensure supporting documentation is attached.
· Assist in vendor research of discrepancies and past-due amounts.
· Maintain and assist with updating vendor files in third party payment software, including name, address changes and contact information.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Cash and Banking :
· Review online banking transactions and update accounting system for daily cash transactions.
· Prepare deposits for bank; code and prepare journal entry into accounting system.
· Download and file monthly bank statements.
· Assist with preparing and processing Positive Pay and ACH banking files for uploading to the bank.
Grant Management Support:
· Collect and organize necessary documentation to support Contracts/Grant reimbursement requests and reports, including invoices, receipts, and proof of payment.
· Follow up on missing or incomplete supporting documents.
· Review and verify expense support for completeness against the expenses recorded on cash basis Income Statement.
· Organize and Prepare support packets for monthly Request for Reimbursement.
· Enter/Apply remittances when accounts receivable are received.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
· Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent course work preferred
· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite or equivalent software, Adobe Pro, CRM Software, Program Management Software, with a solid level of Excel skills
· Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to complete work with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to compose emails with problem presentation and recommended solutions or action plan.
· Ability to interact professionally with other team members, vendors, and customers

Total Rewards Package
This is a permanent, non-exempt (hourly), full-time position. The hourly pay range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour (DOE - depends on experience) . This position is subject to a background check, credit check, and reference check.
