Position Title: Power Washer
Reports to: Shift Supervisor, Operations Manager, & Director of Maintenance Services
FLSA: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-exempt (hourly) plus benefits
Salary: $24 per hour
Schedule: Day shift (5:30 am 2 pm) or Swing Shift (1:30 pm - 10 pm)

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, Operations Manager and Director of Maintenance Services, Pressure Washer Machine Operators will provide power washing services within the Clean & Safes 275-block radius of Downtown San Diego. Working in a self-directed, two-person team-based environment, this position applies expertise in ultra-high-pressure water jet equipment used to clean sidewalks and other public right-of- ways in Downtown San Diego. This role requires the physical ability to perform large scale power washing services and standing for prolonged periods of time. This position requires adjusting to the changing needs of a fast-paced environment with a focus on problem solving and continuously improving safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Job Functions & Duties 90%
Removal of dirt, stains and debris
Removal of human and animal waste
Removal of food waste
Removal of graffiti on sidewalks
Cleaning of the base of public trash cans in the public right of way
Removal of gum and other substances/objects that may stick to the sidewalk surfaces
Reclamation of all power wash water
Strategically place clearly legible Caution/and or Wet Floor signs on every sidewalk being power washed
Clean, maintain and operate issued equipment, including vehicles, phones, and radios
Obey traffic laws and code compliance regulations in accordance with California State law.
Provide excellent customer service assistance with residents, business owners, tourists, and patrons
Perform other tasks as assigned by Director or Maintenance Services, Operations Manager and Shift Supervisor
Participate daily line-ups and safety readings/stretches for of maintenance personnel
Conduct daily inspections of personnel and equipment before and after use
Perform quality assurance duties as directed
Compile daily statistics using eponic work logs, recording completed work orders
Complete quarterly training under the direction of shift Supervisor every 3 months.
Perform other tasks as assigned by Executive Director, Director of Maintenance Services, Operations Manager, and Shift Supervisor.
Administrative Tasks 10%
Adhere to all local, state, federal guidelines, and laws. I.e HIPAA, OSHA, FLSA
Adhere to all of the DSDP policies and procedures
Answer all calls and radios communication, in a polite and professional manner
Use company telephone for data collection (Eponic) and timecard features (Paylocity)

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess a valid California Class C Drivers License with a current address and acceptable driving record (required)
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to lift up to 75 Ibs
Must have knowledge of hazardous material
Must have knowledge of water reclamation laws and procedures
Must have knowledge of code compliance, regulations, and procedures
Must possess a valid California Class C Drivers License with a current address and acceptable driving record
Previous janitorial or custodial experience
Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
Outstanding customer service skills, in person and electronically (radio/ phone)
Ability to use a cell phone for data collection
Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for up to 5 hours
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Bilingual or Multilingual (preferred)

The 24/7 Operations consists of maintenance services along the public right of way, beautification efforts along with security and outreach services. This includes sweeping, trash removal, doggy bag dispenser refill, tree trimming, pressure washing, graffiti, gum, and sticker removal. The Clean & Safe Operations is committed to providing great customer service along with providing a cleaner and safer downtown to our stakeholders and residents.
In all, these programs provide an annual contractual budget of approximately $13 million annually.
