Position Title: Trash Truck Driver
Reports to: Shift Supervisor, Operations Manager, & Director of Maintenance Services
FLSA: Full-time (40 hours/week), Non-exempt (hourly) plus benefits
Salary: $24 per hour
Schedule: Day Shift (5:30 am - 2 pm) or Swing Shift (1:30 pm - 10 pm)

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, Director of Maintenance Services (DMS), Operations Manager (OM). Trash Truck Driver will provide trash route services and maintenance services within the Clean & Safe’s 275-block radius of Downtown San Diego. Neighborhoods within this radius include Cortez Hill, Columbia, Marina, City Center, East Village, and the Gaslamp Quarter. Every Trash Truck Driver is responsible for emptying garbage cans, completing assigned neighborhood trash routes, picking up bag drops, and removing illegal dumps reported by management in these neighborhoods. Trash Truck Driver Ambassador may work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to: heat, cold, rain, winds, noise, fumes, odors, and dust. Acting as the eyes and ears for their neighborhood and the Downtown San Diego community requires excellent customer service skills and the desire to help others.

This position is contingent on successfully passing a:

The 24/7 Operations consists of maintenance services along the public right of way, beautification efforts along with security and outreach services. This includes sweeping, trash removal, doggy bag dispenser refill, tree trimming, pressure washing, graffiti, gum, and sticker removal. The Clean & Safe Operations is committed to providing great customer service along with providing a cleaner and safer downtown to our stakeholders and residents.
In all, these programs provide an annual contractual budget of approximately $13 million annually.
