Job Description:

• PURPOSE OF JOB :

Provides direct patient care and performs selected therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Provides safe and efficient direct patient care with consideration for age-specific accommodations.

• Collaborates with patients, families, and health care team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care.

• Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.

• Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.

• Maintains clinical competency according to unit-specific standards.

Job Qualifications:
VI. QUALIFICATIONS :

• Education:

1. High school or GED completion.
2. Certified PCT position requires current Pennsylvania license.
B. Experience:
1. Hospital experience preferred.

2. Phlebotomy and ECG experience preferred.
C. Other Skills:
1. Certified in B.L.S. for health care providers.
2. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
4. Knowledge of computer functionality.
