Dragonfly Pond Works is an environmental service company specializing in stormwater management. Since 2006, Dragonfly has routinely maintained and repaired stormwater devices, lakes, ponds, wetlands, and underground facilities.

The Company services the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast with over 150 employees.

Experience

  • Background in landscaping, hardscaping, grading, excavation, erosion control, stormwater control maintenance, or repair desired
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions on difficult and uneven terrain, both on and off heavy equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry, frequently, at least 40 pounds and, at times, as much as 80 pounds, as assigned
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and to stoop, bend, and crouch, as required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead others in the field
  • Able to adapt and / or improvise quickly, as demanded by conditions or unknown factors
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Safety oriented

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to a Regional Manager, this is a field-based position focused on the smooth and profitable execution of work in the field.

Responsibilities of this position are broad and may include :

  • Desire to learn how to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner including a mini-excavator, skid steer, large excavator, hydraulic dredge, slope mowers, hand tools, etc.
  • Perform manual labor tasks
  • Prepare the construction site each day by organizing and coordinating needed materials, tools, and equipment
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Complete repairs on ponds, lakes, and other stormwater control measures, including excavation, grading, dredging, erosion repairs, pipe installation, SCM conversion, turf establishment, mowing, planting, invasive plant treatment or removal, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor to ensure successful job completion
  • Monitor site activities to encourage maximum productivity and safe work practices
  • Shoot grades in the field to ensure the site is built as designed
