Purpose

The purpose of the GLT Site Metallurgical Engineer – APAC is to manage site test work.

Role Accountabilities

The GLT Site Metallurgical Engineer reports directly to the GLT Principal Site Metallurgical Engineer and works onsite in the Mining and Process Solutions business.

Critical Relationships

Strong and productive relationships with:

• GLT Principal Site Metallurgical Engineer - APAC
• Global GLT operations Team
• Regional Account Manager
• GLT Technology Manager

Key Responsibilities

Operational Efficiency:

• Manage the execution of onsite testwork.
• Plan and conduct all assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Monitor and report on project progress, issues and performance.
• Manage project resources, including staff, contractors, and equipment.

Reporting:

• Provide regular status updates and reports to GLT Principal Site Metallurgical Engineer -APAC.
• Gather technical data as input into relevant customer technical reports.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

• Identify, build and nurture relationships with Customers.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and relevant stakeholders.

Financial Management:

• Monitor expenses ensuring expenditure is within approved budgets and delegation of authority (DOA).

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor Level qualification in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.

Required skills and knowledge:

• Working knowledge of gold mine operations.
• Proven leadership experience including the ability to manage remote teams.

Required experience:

• 5-10 years’ relevant experience implementing technology on mine sites, with a minimum of 5 years in an operational role on a gold mine site.

Other requirements:

• Must be permanent resident or citizen and have the ability to travel overseas on a regular basis.
• Ability to work autonomously and must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
