ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Put on all required PPE and Safety Gear, perform a safety check on equipment and insure safety devices are functioning properly.
• Obtain work schedule and daily production, risk predictions, paperwork prioritize work and prepare for operations.
• Complete Shift Hand Off- (Show), communicate with prior and/or relieving operator to discuss any line issues.
• Ensure that all E-Stops, Machine and People Guards, interlocks, chain, door and like devices have be tested and are operational according to Bakersfield Operations Center (BOC), Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) minimum requirements.
• Perform a safety check on equipment, including but not limited to Powered Industrial Truck, (PIT) and any other electric powered lifts.
• Audit Receivers and Vendors paperwork and verify.
• Coordinate movement of product and supplies to outside storage facilities and pick-up and delivery of recyclables.
• Coordinate shuttle driver’s trailers and schedules.
• Check and break seals on incoming trailers, LOTO trailers as required, verify rejects items, take photos, complete paperwork and set-up returns.
• At end of shift, secure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, and perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.

Position Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• One-year related experience (preferred).
• Possess verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions and correspondences. Ability to learn technical terminology and the ability to work within a team environment.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
• Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
• Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
• Must participate in company orientation and training.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.

Work Environment:

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced. 

The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens. 

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $27.10.
