DRH Health is Hiring a Team Leader, Lab Near Duncan, OK

The Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day instrumentation and operational activities within their assigned area of responsibility. Assist the Lab Director and Lab Supervisor(s) in the day-to-day technical and operational oversight. The Team Leader is responsible for providing appropriate laboratory care to all age ranges and patient types, orienting new team members, and training current team members on new procedures, instruments, or established methods.
Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory in accordance with established laboratory protocol and procedures.
  • Complete review of tests performed, quality control results, and provide guidance on these functions when appropriate.
  • Report test results in a timely manner and according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
  • Share technical expertise with team members.
  • Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment; Follow exposure control plans for blood borne and airborne pathogens. Dispose of biohazards appropriately.
  • Follow established procedures for laboratory quality control and report discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform calibration of equipment as required. Perform instrument/method correlations biannually as required and submit documentation to Medical Director for review and signature.
  • Review and maintain all appropriate maintenance logs. Perform regular maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate. Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimens when problems occur.
  • Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies for use in daily operations.
  • Regularly and appropriately communicate information to Lab Supervisor(s) or Director.
  • Maintain up to date policy and procedures for all tests. Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Follow all organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Assist in updating policy and procedure manuals.
  • Attend training to stay updated with laboratory methodology, instrumentation, procedures, and policies.
  • Participate on teams and special projects when needed.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements (ex. weekends, holidays, on call.)
  • Must adhere to, and promote, safety protocols at all times.
  • Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
  • This position requires respirator and fit testing. Required testing will be performed on all team members at risk for exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet producing procedures, or any caustic chemicals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the department Director.
