JOB DESCRIPTION: Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems and services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to define and execute technical solutions. Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement within the backend engineering team. Ensure the implementation of best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and documentation. Conduct regular code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of backend systems. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our systems and processes. Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall technical vision and roadmap of the company. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend engineering. Proven experience in a leadership or senior technical role, preferably as a Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager. Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js. In-depth knowledge of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code). Knowledge of frontend technologies and frameworks. Experience with distributed systems and high-availability architectures. Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced, agile environment. Position Location: California Compensation Range: $16.00 - $209,800.00 Compensation Frequency: Annual Base pay offered may vary depending on actual location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
