Teamwork across all functions to achieve a winning attitude and culture.Overview:The Pressman/Lithography Technician ensures the integrity of print processing and finished product. The Lithography Technician understands what a defect could be and inspects the materials and cans for any and all defects. The Technician inspects and tests cans and materials throughout the production process. The Technician ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies by strict adherence to DSC policy and good manufacturing practices. Technician stops the process if suspect material or quality to isolate the product or materials. Technician communicates with production personnel about any quality issues.
Essential Functions (Duties):
  • Maintains the decorators for optimum print quality.
  • Changes plates, inks and other materials for new production runs.
  • Safely operates the decorators for optimum output.
  • Documents any issues with materials and seeks resolution to those issues.
  • Communicates issues to production personnel, managers and Director of Lithography.
  • Seeks assistance from production personnel to contain suspect or rejected product.
  • Chooses random samples from the production lines.
  • Determines need for and secures supplies for the production line.
  • Documents work, errors and faults within the department.
  • Continuously works to improve processes leading to reduction in scrap or waste.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follows through and completes all work in a timely manner.
  • Communicates need for and helps maintain appropriate levels of needed supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local and customer guidelines.
  • Works efficiently and safely within company guidelines.
  • Maintains peer relationships to share issues and ideas.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:Education: High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent.
Experience: Previous Lithographic experience preferred.
Skills / Attributes Required:
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Ability to see visual defects in product.
  • Ability to manipulate cans to inspect inside and outside surfaces.
  • Ability to use electronically controlled presses.
  • Must be able to work quickly and adjust priorities.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to train helpers in tasks.
  • Ability to lift, clean, move and reset machinery.
