Contract: Support for application/system development and technical maintenance

Job Overview: Client is seeking a Mobile Application Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. The role requires managing existing applications, correcting defects, and creating new solutions while adhering to software engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance existing business applications, ensuring timely resolution of defects.
• Utilize an iterative development methodology and conduct Agile ceremonies to validate business requirements and assess usability and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with software development.
• Conduct feasibility studies, requirements analysis, and life cycle activities, focusing on long-term system use.
• Develop and analyze software requirements, create use cases, and define artifacts for each development phase.
• Build Java applications using a service-oriented architecture and web services.
• Design and develop applications in a multi-platform environment, with a focus on object-oriented programming and Internet/Intranet architecture.
• Ensure application design complies with Lean process improvement methods and 508 regulations.
• Provide graphic design for user interfaces, conduct usability analysis, and ensure adherence to 508 compliance.
• Participate in project design specifications and contribute to governance committee reviews.
• Assist in developing business needs statements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
• Test software and integration modules using standard USPS tools to ensure quality, including functional, technical, and performance testing.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in mobile application development, with a focus on Java and object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in Agile development methodologies and iterative development processes.
• Familiarity with 508 compliance regulations and experience in creating accessible applications.
• Ability to conduct usability assessments and provide graphic design for user interfaces.
• Experience with multi-platform environments and service-oriented architecture.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
