A leading jewelry retailer is seeking an experienced Gem Buyer to join their team in South Florida. This is a full-time role that will require you to be on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and demand for gemstones.
• Analyze data to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Conduct price analysis and assess profitability of products
• Negotiate prices, terms, and quantities with vendors to ensure profitable transactions.
• Evaluate gemstones based on factors such as color, clarity, cut, and carat weight to assess quality.
• Manage inventory levels, place orders as needed, handle returns, and maintain records
• Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to promote gems and jewelry pieces, aiming for profitable sales.

Requirements:

You MUST be GIA certified to be considered for this position.

• Proven gemological experience
• Prior purchasing experience in the jewelry industry preferred
• Strong organization and analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Attention to detail
