dsstpublicschools is Hiring a Network School Psychologist (2024-2025 School Year) Near Denver, CO

POSITION: Network School Psychologist GRADE LEVEL: Middle and High School LOCATION: DSST: Home Office located in Denver, CO (Hybrid Role) SALARY: $68,000-$76,160 based on aligned years of experience up to 6 years. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Our Regional School Psychologists are leaders who play an integral role in ensuring that students with disabilities are welcomed, known, and challenged to achieve their most ambitious post-secondary path. DSST’s Regional School Psychologist will play a critical role in ensuring all students with disabilities in the network receive high quality and legally defensible evaluations for special education eligibility. At the direction of the Home Office Mental Health Team, the Regional School Psychologist will support DSST schools with identifying students with social emotional impacts, implementing supports that address root causes, and completing special education initial evaluations and reevaluations including completing social, emotional, and cognitive assessments and drafting evaluation reports. The Regional School Psychologist will assess students for social emotional impacts and support in creating connections with school based teams and the community to provide appropriate supports. This position will include working closely with the school based team and families to understand impact areas, complete the necessary assessments, and summarizing results in a holistic, comprehensive manner so schools and families can connect students with the appropriate supports. This role will support student cases across the DSST network at both the Middle School and High School levels and may include students who receive mild/moderate support as well as center programming. This role requires significant interpersonal skills given the collaboration between families, school teams and special service providers as well as strong communication, organization and time management. Network Mental Health Assessments & Evaluations: Spend, on average, 4 per week in the school setting Coached and managed by a member of the HO Mental Health team including bi-weekly coaching and development meetings. At the direction of the Home Office Mental Health Team, be assigned to schools and individual cases throughout the DSST network in order to ensure all students with disabilities have strong, comprehensive evaluations and assessments that help matching students with the appropriate in school and community support. Assignments will include working on several special education evaluations simultaneously and supporting multiple schools throughout the course of a week. Communication and Collaboration Build relationships with members of the school leadership and Special Education and Mental Health Teams at schools Communicate with Mental Health Teams, General Education Teachers, other Special Education Teachers and school leaders about information needed and timelines for assessment and evaluations. Communicate regularly with the Home Office Mental Health and Special Education Team As needed, communicate with families and outside providers about student needs MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Has a valid special service provider endorsement. IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS Strong candidates for this role should have a demonstrated ability to respond flexibly to a changing work environment, to build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students.
