Consultant should be open to Hybrid in Chicago, IL (On-site twice per week)

Key Responsibilities:

• IT and Cybersecurity Management: Operate and maintain IT functions across various workspaces including 41 workstations, 13 semi-enclosed offices, 3 C-suite offices, 1 security office, a receptionist station, 4 team rooms with A/V capabilities, alternative collaboration spaces, a café with A/V, and 2 conference rooms.

Ensure the integration and functionality of all IT and A/V systems.

• Cyber Crime Investigation: Conduct forensic analysis and investigation of cybercrimes, including data breaches, malware attacks, and unauthorized access incidents.

Collect and preserve digital evidence in accordance with legal standards.

• Offensive Security Measures: Conduct penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities within the network and systems.

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate potential cyber threats and attacks.

Simulate cyber-attacks to evaluate the effectiveness of the security systems and improve defensive measures.

• Network and Security Management: Monitor and maintain network security systems and back-up systems.

Ensure continuous monitoring and maintenance of IT, A/V equipment, and software.

Maintain all systems and devices up to date with the latest malware, virus protection, and other cybersecurity measures.

• Help Desk Management: Provide 24/7 help desk support available online, by chat, and by phone.

Resolve IT-related issues promptly and effectively.

• Equipment and Software Maintenance: Maintain and update all IT and A/V infrastructure.

Manage software licenses, updates, replacements, and procure new software as needed.

Oversee the purchase and installation of new equipment as required.

• Training and Development: Provide training and create training materials for staff on cybersecurity measures and necessary systems.

Educate staff on best practices for maintaining security and preventing breaches.

• Risk Assessment and Reporting: Perform quarterly risk assessments and present findings to MPEA Senior Management.

Develop risk management strategies to protect the organization's IT infrastructure.

Provide recommendations on cost-effective and modern replacements or enhancements for current software and equipment.

• Liaison and Coordination: Serve as the local account manager for MPEA, coordinating all IT-related activities and being available on-site at least twice per week.

Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on cybersecurity and electronic crimes investigations.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity and electronic crimes investigations.

Certified Offensive Security Professional (OSCP) or CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification.

• Proven experience in managing and securing IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of forensic analysis, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide on-site support twice per week and manage remote monitoring and maintenance effectively.
• Experience with A/V systems, software management, and IT support services.
