Purpose of the position

Identifies and implements opportunities to further develop the business for the assigned “Fiber Optic” product line to reach market leadership with competitive and innovative products/solutions. Defines and drives the long term product strategy and roadmap of the whole life-cycle, sets priorities and develops a product line strategy to make best use of the Datwyler IT Infra’s footprint for the assigned products/solutions.

Your Responsibilities

Overall:

• Ensure that customers are supported with innovative products/solutions at competitive costs and lead times
• Constantly drive, monitor and report key performance indicators of the product line, such as revenues, margins, growth and profitability
• Support the strategy with business plans and actions on plant, portfolio, regional and company evel
• Drive and take care of the product line according to the 4Ps within the product house organisation

New product development and launch:

• Work on the forefront with sales, key account management and marketing
• Research and analyse market conditions, identify competitors, technologies and customer trends to transform these into a future ready portfolio roadmap
• Drive for a timely development and launch of new products and solutions with R&D, develop pricing strategy and prepare marketing concept in support of MarCom 

Product life cycle management:

• Identify the need for phase lifts, re-positioning, phase-outs and cost downs and transform these into appropriate actions, i.e. product life cycle management
• Assure that product information in collateral, ERP and PIM are up to date 

Your profile

• Diploma, Bachelor or Master in Economics or Engineering
• Proven record of success and skillset in Product Management
• Technical knowledge and working experience in the field of fibre optics
• Highly customer oriented
• Organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Comfortable to communicate over all levels up to CEO level, good visualisation and communication skills
• Collaborative approach and ability to work with distributed, cross-functional teams
