Supply Chain Intern

Ducommun’s Huntsville Performance Center is seeking a Supply Chain Intern to work full-time during the summer. The Supply Chain Intern will drive material by expediting or deferring components, placing orders, filling shortages and component maintenance.

Our Facility in Huntsville, AR manufactures state-of-the-art circuit boards for Aerospace and Defense.

Job Summary

• IInvolvement with Supply chain projects including Improve DOI (Days of inventory), PPV (purchase price variance), and DPO (Days payable outstanding).
• Support the purchasing functions by placing purchase orders from requisitions, maintaining data integrity in the business system, communicating delivery information, and organizing files for all purchasing documents.
• Place purchase orders for MRO items and low dollar items as directed by buyer.
• Expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of products to support manufacturing.
• Perform materials quotation for prices and delivery.
• Review material price variances and provide feedback for resolution.
• Perform data entry and maintain purchasing data in computer system.
• Propose process changes to improve supply chain performance.
• Must be willing and able to work additional hours as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently graduate or enrolled working to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Supply Chain preferred. Junior or Senior.
• Knowledge of MRP (Materials Requirements Planning).
• Previous experience with an ERP system a plus.
• APICS certification preferred but not required.

Required Skills/Qualifications: 

• Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence. 
• Ability to effectively present information to peers and management.
• Solid critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel with the ability to create formulas, v-lookups and pivot tables.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
