Production Manager
Job Description
Job Summary & Essential Functions:
Provide leadership, supervision, coordination, and direction for assigned production to ensure conformance to quality standards, meet delivery targets, and financial goals.
•Facilitate the establishment and implementation of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, 6S, and cycle-time reduction concepts
•Recommend and justify the need for Capital equipment to support the production areas and the facility maintenance of the plant
•Create shipment forecast and oversee scheduling to meet budget and customer requirements
•Provide oversight and leadership for facility maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
•Oversee the management of manufacturing costs, and on-time delivery to customers
•Promote the concept of individual responsibility for product quality
•Establish standards for interdepartmental actions and integration to meet/exceed the customer’s expectations
•Participate in recruiting, selection, and development of all operations personnel through maintaining discipline and personnel relations, interviewing screened applicants
•Provide input for hiring, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, and promotions
•Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
•Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
•Perform other assignments as required
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
•Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and systems, scheduling, staffing, safety, quality, and maintenance
•Working knowledge of SPC, TQM. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 6S, AS9100, and ISO standards. Mil Specs required at CAS facilities
•Demonstrated project management experience—planning, budget, capital investment, allocation of resources
•Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business
•Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving, especially for interdepartmental issues
•Intermediate level of computer proficiency
•Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with people at all levels and functions inside and outside Ducommun Inc.

•Bachelors degree in Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Administration, or relevant discipline.
•Minimum 5-7 years experience showing progression in production management, with supervisory experience
