Job Description

Penmac Staffing is seeking dedicated and hardworking warehouse associates to join a non-profit food distribution warehouse in Springfield, MO.

Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving 270 hunger-relief organizations across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank reaches nearly 60,000 individuals monthly and provides more than 20 million meals annually.

This is a fast-paced and physically demanding position that requires accuracy and the ability to perform basic math on-the-go. The ideal candidate will be responsible for picking and pulling orders, driving a forklift (training provided), using a pallet jack, and maintaining excellent customer service when interacting with volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately pick and pull orders as per the daily requirements.

• Learn to drive and operate a forklift (training provided).

• Use a pallet jack to move and position products.

• Perform basic math calculations to ensure order accuracy.

• Provide excellent customer service to volunteers by interacting, giving directions, and answering questions.

• Ensure the warehouse is organized and products are stored safely.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the day.

• Maneuver and operate machinery such as a forklift.

• Bend, reach, stoop, and twist while handling products.

• Consistently lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.

Qualifications:

• Basic math skills.

• Willingness to learn and operate a forklift.

• Not afraid to undertake training for forklift operation.

• Excellent customer service skills for interacting with volunteers.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

• Previous warehouse experience is a plus but not required.

Additional Information:

• This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to our non-profit mission by ensuring efficient food distribution to those in need.

• Training for forklift operation will be provided.

Schedule is 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Requires occasional Tuesday evening and Saturday when volunteers are in the warehouse.

Pay $17.00 per hour
