Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Looking for a Distributor Operator
• Safely operates roller to compress/compact dirt, aggregate, or blacktop to achieve the specified grading and smooth surface.
• Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
• Determines speed and direction of roller based on knowledge of compressible material to achieve a smooth grade or surface.
• Works closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance and ensures that roller is in safe, proper working order including fluid checks and adequate lubrication.
• Report to the shop when the roller needs maintenance and repair.
• Keeping equipment clean and preparing equipment for transport on flatbed when needed.
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at the job site.
• Follow the Supervisor’s instructions closely.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understand the basics of roller mechanicals.
• Knowledge of how to run a nuclear gauge and a PQI non-nuclear gauge.
• Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• An unwavering focus on safety.
• OSHA
• Willingness to travel throughout Texas.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended | overtime hours outdoors and in various weather conditions at all project locations.
