- Staff will use reflection to develop self-awareness and self-efficacy.
- Adhere to all Recreation and Physical Education and Outdoor Adventure policies and procedures
- Promote the missions of Recreation and Physical Education and Outdoor Adventures
- Attend staff meetings and all trainings
- Monitor use of the Climbing Wall facility – ensuring that all climbers adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Conduct general maintenance of the facility including organization of equipment, inventory, and cleaning as appropriate
- Facilitating equipment rentals following operating procedures
- Administer top-rope belay tests
- Answering questions and educating renters on all OA offerings
- Registering participants for Outdoor Adventure Trips
- Provide assistance and resources for people looking to plan a personal trip
- Maintain organization and overall cleanliness of climbing wall and all storage areas
- Complete Incident Reports and submit maintenance reports as necessary
- Supports and helps progress the university and department’s commitment to anti-racism and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Must possess the desire to help others in an inclusive and open environment that encourages safety, education, service, and fun.
- Ability to work with others, communicate clearly, and maintain a professional attitude
- Basic knowledge of outdoor equipment is preferred
- Display an outgoing and friendly personality
- Commitment to learning and skill development
- Ability to manage time and correspond with staff and patrons in a timely manner
- Computer proficient and comfortable learning new software
- Possess appropriate and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to think independently, be creative and work productively in a fast-paced environment
