Work Performed:
  • Analyze single cell data as part of two grants and write the manuscript.
  • Design new projects based on these data and write grants associated with these designs.
  • Determine tests, to include specific bioinformatics information for projects based on specialized bioinformatics knowledge and needs of grant related experiments.
  • Organize and prepare scientific data for analysis by the PI.
  • Assist PI with performing complex experiments and data analysis for eventual publication.
  • In conjunction with PI, develop plans for research projects and experiments.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education/Training
Work generally requires skills acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other science related scientific field program.
Experience
Work requires two years of research experience. A related master's degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master's degree in lieu of two years of experience.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer neuroscience, psychiatry, pharmacology, toxicology or related field
Research experience involving behavioral studies in mice and/or cell culture is a plus
Experience in biostatistics, R and/or database analysis
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Must be detail-oriented, very well organized, and approach laboratory procedures with critical thinking of the technical aspects
Must adhere to strict safety and reporting requirements
Ability to work and communicate effectively in a dynamic group environment
This is an ideal position for a college graduate/graduate student with an interest in pursuing graduate or professional education(e.g. medical school, graduate school) in the future.
