Job Title: Sales Manager

Location: Dunk & Bright Furniture, Syracuse, NY

Dunk & Bright Furniture, a family-owned furniture retailer in business since 1927, is seeking a Sales Manager for it's location in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales. Preference will be given to those with experience leading in a metrics-driven, goal-oriented retail environment.

The responsibilities of the SM role can be broken down into the following categories:

• Business Leader: Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure that the team meets sales volume and performance goals. Utilize data to identify store and individual performance issues, then address by implementing coaching strategies or process improvements. Measure and record the results of the team’s efforts and report historical and anticipated results.
• Sales: Sales Manager will be in regular selling/sales-person rotation and will have an opportunity to earn as much as or much more than their base pay.
• Client Service: Be present on the showroom floor. Observe designers; ensure that clients are being properly greeted and helped. Assist with client service related issues when necessary.
• On-Going Staff Training: Work in partnership with trainers to assess staff experience level and training needs. When necessary, assign training tasks to strengthen designer performance as it relates to policies and procedures, product knowledge, selling skills, design skills, personal trade development, etc.
• Operations: Ensure that all aspects of the showroom are run smoothly. Tasks include the development of the store schedule, coordination of sales support materials, and acting as the main communication link and between the sales staff and sales support departments. Manage the overall visual display of the store in collaboration with the Visual Display Manager.

• Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
• Flexibility to work extended/flexible hours

Qualifications:

• Successful track-record in sales; 2 years of furniture sales experience preferred but not required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or ability to learn
