Job DescriptionAbout the Position:The Recruiter’s primary objectives are to source, interview, and hire quality employees for Dunn Lumber Company. A successful Recruiter acts as the subject matter expert for recruiting-related topics. This role anticipates and assesses staffing needs continuously while maintaining proactive communication with hiring managers and executive leadership. The Recruiter develops and maintains a network in the community with schools, organizations, and multiple media venues to establish a pipeline of qualified candidates that adds to the Dunn Lumber culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Post job openings on our applicant tracking system, college job boards, Indeed, and other media venues.
  • Pre-screens job candidates (both paper and electronic) as well as conducting background checks.
  • Set up and conduct interviews for external hiring.
  • Takes and maintains detailed interview notes.
  • Assesses applicants’ post-interview and makes a job offer or sends a rejection.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of Dunn Lumber’s benefit package and offerings.
  • Inputs new hire information in our HR/Payroll software (UKG) for onboarding.
  • Updates Microsoft Teams Planner Board “New Hire Onboarding” with new hire information.
  • Prepares and presents new hire orientation for all hired on employees on their first day.
  • Clearly articulates Dunn Lumber’s vision and culture to new hires.
  • Takes part in job fair events and recruitment/talent events.
  • Maintains ongoing contact with management/hiring teams to ensure capacity and quality of workforce at each location.
  • Stays current with applicable hiring and employment laws.
  • Maintains high levels of confidentiality and objective outlook for hiring.
  • Prioritizes action plans for the recruiting department based on the needs of all the Dunn Lumber locations.
  • Submits quarterly Recruiting metrics to the Human Resource Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
This position sits in the Human Resources Department and upholds an extreme level of confidentiality for all topics discussed.

Previous ExperiencePrevious experience in talent management and HR functions is preferred, but not required.

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duty of this job, the employee is largely sedentary. On occasion, the employee must be able to lift, carry, or pull up to 10 lbs. in supplies and materials related to the job.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is low.
