Durango Coca-Cola is Hiring a Relief Account Manager Near Durango, CO

Overview: This role is responsible for representing Coca-Cola of Durango as a professional salesperson to all assigned existing and prospective accounts, filling in for vacationing or sick Sales Account Managers as necessary. The Relief Account Manager promotes growth and development of Coca-Cola and its allied products, executes promotional activity, and ensures that accounts are serviced and merchandised in accordance with Company standards. Responsibilities also include securing weekly LOS through ordering, merchandising, building displays (both mandatory and incremental) as well as understanding and delivering budgeted volume and revenue goals, utilizing sales tools and programs. This role is responsible for knowing all routes and covering those existing routes as necessary while new team members are hired and trained.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the ordering, sales, rotation, and look of success (LOS) for each assigned account
  • Make routine calls on assigned accounts and sell in promotional activities
  • Responsible for the merchandising activity in all assigned customer locations and is the primary/solo merchandiser in small stores (convenience, value, drug) but works with a Merchandiser as a team of two in large stores (supermarkets). In the Durango/Farmington location, Account Managers are responsible for all merchandising activity, regardless of store size
  • Interact and build rapport with decision maker in each customer location and place order of product to be delivered to maintain sufficient inventory levels for consumer purchase
  • Maintain back-room stock areas in a safely accessible stack formation within the assigned storage area. Write up credits and confirm the credits are ready for pick up by our driver
  • Maintain auto insurance, mileage reporting, and servicing of vehicle per the Company Vehicle Use Policy, whether operating a Company provided vehicle or a personally owned vehicleAdditional:
  • The role will travel to various customer sites, as a result each environment will vary.
  • Regional day travel is required with this role.
  • To accomplish tasks, the position will need to work around a variety of weather environments (i.e. sun, rain, sleet, rain, snow, excessive cold & heat).
  • This position is very active and requires constant standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and spend their time both on the customer floor and in their back room(s). As a result, they should expect a fast-paced production environment and will frequently lift and/or move items up to 65 pounds. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)
  • The role is expected to be able to lift and carry 65 lbs. repetitively. Must be able to lift weight above shoulders and below waist. Must be able to push and pull a manual pallet jack with a pallet of product on level and sloped surfaces moving pallets weighing up to 2,600 lbs. Must be able to push and pull beverage carts weighing up to 1,000 lbs. on level and sloped surfaces.
  • The role will have occasional to frequent twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, and will be required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work hours: 5:00am – 7:00am start until routes are complete, Monday through Friday. (Start times may vary slightly according to route assignment.)
  • Additional or alternative days/times may be occasionally needed, depending on customer and/or promotional campaign including holidays.

Experience & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Two years of college or the equivalent in Direct Store Delivery work experience
  • Valid driver’s license (no major traffic violations and no more than 2 minor violations in the last 3 years)
  • Understanding of store terminology, promotional activities, product lines, and competitive positioning
  • Must be MS Office proficient (Teams, Outlook) and be able to operate on iPhone / iPad devices
  • Successful track record of building strong business relationships within the marketplace and exceptional customer relations skills required, with the ability to defuse customer disputes creating a win-win outcome
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and the sales team members
  • Must maintain professional appearance with customers which upholds Durango Coca-Cola’s brand image
  • Team-player attitude is crucial
