Job Summary
Provides vision and leadership in planning, implementing, and continuous improvement of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Develops programs that promote maximum career and educational opportunities for students.
1.Supervises and trains assigned staff, conducts performance appraisals, makes employment and discipline recommendations, and coordinates and manages school, project, and work assignments.
2. Supports the attainment of DCPS strategic plan goals 3 and 4: soft skills credentialing and academy accreditation.
3. Coordinates with charter school liaisons to ensure compliance for Perkins, CAPE, career-themed course registration, industry certification testing, and other required measures.
4. Manages local, state, and federal funds that support CTE programs. Oversees compliance with any reporting necessary for grant funding.
5. Monitors and facilitates professional development for CTE teachers and admin.
6. Monitors data collection and reporting on enrollment, industry certifications, and grant outcomes for CTE programs.
7. Collaborates on post-secondary articulation agreements and dual enrollment processes. Conducts meetings with post-secondary program managers and coordinators to review and correlate secondary courses with post-secondary courses to identity areas that match the student outcomes and standards at both levels.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five (5) years successful teaching experience .
Certifications & Licenses: Florida Department of Education Certification in at least one subject area or be eligible for a district vocational teacher certification. Masters may be in Educational Leadership or Administration and Supervision or related area.
